Music is a true passion and life-long vocation of mine. My classical piano training began at age 8. Five years later, I won a piano competition, leading to several performances of music by composers including Brahms, Bartok, Mozart, and Gershwin. My musical horizons expanded as I sang in choirs and studied many other instruments, such as violin, guitar, organ, and lately, Afro-Cuban-Brazilian hand percussion. I have recently played for soloists, vocal groups, churches, and in 2006 accompanied a children's musical produced by California Theater Center. Additional training and affiliations with Community Colleges, Music for Minors (provides volunteer music teachers to serve in schools around the Bay area), Orff-Schulwerk (teaching pedagogy), and San Jose Music Study Club.
